Time Once Again
Well, I figure it's probably time once again to post something and let people know what it going on in my crazy life. Well I'll start off telling some funny not so funny stories about my child. Hope someone gets a laugh out of these stories. I'm still working on seeing the humor. I'm not sure that I posted about the beautiful couch that my husband bought for me while I was out of town well here we go. Mitch bought me a very nice couch which if we would have bought it retail probably would have cost us about $3,000. That is more money than I probably would have ever spent. Well the local furniture store was going out of business and were selling all of their things at rock bottom prices.( For those of you that know me, I purchase all of my furniture at stores that are closing. Do not let me go into any more of these stores.) Anyway so he bought me a very plush gray sectional while I was out of town, at the point in the story where this not so funny story took place we've had this couch for 3 months. I've been working on a project that required some bright blue paint. Reese my very smart child who knows how to climb onto any surface figured out how to get the small container of paint that I was using to paint out of off the counter. He proceeded to take that container into the living room and get the lid off and spill bright blue paint all over my new couch and the carpet. Luckily this was not one of the other funny stories I tell that happened while I was in the shower, I happened to be on the couch along with Mitch. Well Mitch immediately freaks out, I'm a little slower and am trying to figure out what happened. I'm grateful that Mitch is a quick thinker and immediately finds a way online to clean paint out of carpet and couches and I'm still reeling from my great luck. Then I remember our wonderful friends that let us use their carpet cleaner for another one of our wonderful stories I'll have to share another time. Well our great friends get in their vehicle and come over with their carpet cleaner and voila I have the perfect cleaning solution to get the bright blue paint out of both the carpet and couch. Remind me not to point out either places to anyone who comes to visit or if we ever sell the house or the couch. Please remind me not to leave any paint anywhere in the house in a container or not. Always remind me to never stop loving on this ever adorable little dude that I am so lucky to call my own. Not sure what I would do without him or his very handsome Daddy!!!
Well the little boy isn't napping so well so I'll have to finish my stories another time, stay tuned I'm sure to have many more stories.

Protect the Family
Not to bad, I've got another post for March. Say Hay!!!
Well might as well give you an update on life right now, been a little busy. Especially since Mitch is still in the middle of tax season and I am still a say at home mom. My days are spent entertaining Reese and maintaining the house, which is no small feat if you've seen my house or spent the day with my child. Reese lost his basketball somewhere in the house, it's been three weeks, he was driving Mitch and I crazy crying about it. Alright Mitch and Reese were driving me crazy as they cried about it. Well I finally broke down and bought both of them new basketballs. Yay for me, maybe I'll have some sanity.
Despite that Ashley Fay had her third child, my fourth nephew, Conrad Neeley. Such a cute little boy, got to spend a little time with Ashley and her cute family shortly after she returned home.
But now on to something that has been dominating my mind this morning. Maybe some of you will think that this is stupid, but it's been bothering me. I'm having a hard time with the government telling me how to raise my child. For example, in the news I have heard about the government deciding that if they don't like the choice that the parent makes they will take the child away from the parents and enforce upon the child what they deem fit. I know that this has been happening in the medical world, but I have heard of it happening elsewhere as well. I'm also bothered by the lack of care on the part of some parents. For example, with the recent car seat recall, there really isn't anything wrong with the car seat. The only problem with the car seat is the parents, the parents lack of monitoring and taking care of the car seat (checking for cleanliness and making sure it was in operating order). Why should it be the fault of the car seat manufacturer to replace parts when the parents aren't capable of cleaning up after their child. That I think is a little sad, as I was doing some studying I ran across a talk "Moral Values and Rewards" by Royden G. Derrick.
Just some food for thought, this talk was given in 1981, how sad that things have only gotten worse. I hope that we will be able pick up some pieces and start caring enough to stand up for them and protect them in all things, safety, medically, and spiritually more than anything. Stand up for the family and what the family stands for.

"The
teachers in church and in school should be allies of the parents in
teaching children appropriate values that will guide them throughout
their lives. The home should be a laboratory of learning, where these
values, and more sensitive ones too, are inculcated into the lives of
family members through daily experiences. Then the three work in harmony
to fulfill parental responsibility.
Unfortunately, today many societies in the world do not place sufficient importance upon the home and the family."Just some food for thought, this talk was given in 1981, how sad that things have only gotten worse. March Update
I thought I would give everyone a little bit of an update!! I know it has been a while since I have left a post but I thought maybe some people out here would like to know what is going on in our lives. So here goes.
I have become a stay at home mom. This was not planned and at the time was a very stressful decision. I was laid off at my job, that I had been brought in and had been there for almost a year. I was very upset that they would do that, but as time has drawn on I know that it was only a matter of time before everyone gets laid off. It's been fun to stay home with Reese especially since he's now almost 19 months old and very energetic and starting to talk. We spend a good majority of our day playing basketball and him helping me clean the house and do laundry.
I wouldn't change it for anything. Right now it's Tax Season and so Mitch is very busy and works alot, we see him very evening and on Sundays it seems. Tax Season is almost over and we are looking forward to April.
I was doing some studying this morning and I thought that since I've been angry with some of the women of the church and how they have been acting I thought that this was very fitting for my thoughts on the Priesthood and how I wish that some people would do some research and listen to the Prophets and what they learn in the temple. Sometimes I wonder if they have these strong doubts and they aren't taking them to the temple and studying them and finding an answer for themselves. I hope that they find peace with their choices and that instead of focusing on complete equality that they will understand that complete equality isn't truely equal anymore.
My young sisters, some will try to persuade you that because you are not ordained to the priesthood you have been shortchanged. They are simply wrong, and they do not understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. The blessings of the priesthood are available to every righteous man and woman. We may all receive the Holy Ghost, obtain personal revelation, and be endowed in the temple, from which we emerge “armed” with power. 12 The power of the priesthood heals, protects, and inoculates all of the righteous against the powers of darkness. Most significantly, the fulness of the priesthood contained in the highest ordinances of the house of the Lord can only be received by a man and woman together. 13 Said President Harold B. Lee: “Pure womanhood plus priesthood means exaltation. But womanhood without priesthood, or priesthood without pure womanhood doesn’t spell exaltation.”

I have a One Year Old!!! Say What!!!!
Reese has changed so much, obviously they are supposed to but that doesn't mean that I was prepared for all of the changes that happened. Reese has changed our lives so much, we don't know what we would do without him at this point. He brings so much joy to our lives and to others. Even though we've lost plenty of sleep and are constantly worrying about him and what he is doing it is worth all of it to snuggle with him. But now he a big boy and I can't turn back time so I thought I would share a few picture of him that were taken recently.

Valentines Day!!
I know it has been entirely to long since my last post so here we go.
I've changed jobs, I wish it was to be a stay at home mom but not quite.
I now work for Nonpareil Farms If you are interested in what it is I do and who I work for check out their website.
http://www.nonpareilfarms.com/
So along with a job change we've been called to be Primary Teachers and we enjoy being there.
I guess some of you might like to know how Reese is doing. He's getting so big, he enjoys all of his time spent in his jumperoo, on the ground playing with toys and whenever he is eating.
He eats many different things ranging from all kinds of fruits and veggies to the hard boiled egg and blue cheese his Grandma fed him when we went out to dinner. He also enjoys teething biscuits and puffs. He's getting really good with his hands and I'm sure he will start trying to feed himself soon.
He doesn't have any teeth yet, but we've still got some time.
He will be 6 months on the 16th so in two days.
Here are some pictures of his cuteness, just in time for Valentines Day!!!
He has a DR. appointment next week, I'll try to post after his appointment so that you all can see just how big he is getting.
Just wanted to throw out there how loved I am feeling today.
Mitch sent me the most beautiful flowers today, I got to spend time with my smiley baby, and came home to a surprise left by my mom she heart attacked my house before she returned home.
Left a little surprise of Oreos and of course Reeses.
I sure am glad to have married my best friend nearly 4 years ago, how I do love him.
I'm not sure what I would do without him, and our sweet little baby.
Looking forward to the next few months and hope they will go by fast so that Tax season can end and I can have my husband back.
Hope everyone had a great Valentines day!!!
and if you don't feel very loved just remember the Lord loves you and you never know who else does and isn't sharing it because they are scared, so why don't you show someone you love them today!!

Working Mom!!!
Well I'm just going to get right into this and tell everyone how I feel. Yes, I am a working mom. And yes I hate leaving my child every day. When people I know find out that I work, it's almost like their opinion of me changes. Well let me set some of you straight out there. I don't work because I choose to be away from my child, I work because we have bills to pay and Mitch's paycheck just doesn't quite cover it. Not only that but with the new law about health care law we really wouldn't be able to make it. Which really sucks!!! I would love to stay home everyday with my baby, play and be the kind of mom I want to be. Until things change enough to allow me to stay home I'll be working. And believe me we are both working on making it possible for me to stay home. We as in Mitch and I both hate the fact that we have to drop Reese off with someone and leave him there all day. One of these days I will be able to tell people that I am a stay at home mom but until then I will just have to keep telling people I am a working mom.
Being a stay at home mom was always my dream, I always wanted to be like my mom and stay home and be with my children until they were at school all day. Now that have realized that that dream isn't going to be reality right now I am making the best of it. Being a stay at home mom has to be one of the hardest jobs there is, there are so many things to be done along with all of the things that we need to teach our children. I have always felt like the stay at home mom has received a bad rap for someone that just stays home all day and doesn't do anything. I think that stereotype is completely wrong, if you think about all the people you would have to pay in order to replace a stay at home mom it would be over $100,000.00 a year. You would need a nanny, chef, housekeeper those aren't all of the things that a mom does. Now I will say I do know some stay at home moms who don't do any of those things and all they do all day is indulge in their own wants and wishes. All I will say is that to all of those stay at home moms who are doing it the right way good for you. Living within your means and making it work. I wish Mitch and I would have practiced living on only his income before we had Reese. We got a little to comfortable with having 2 incomes and now we are paying for it.
Can't wait for this time to be over so that I can stay home with my little boy and love on him all day. All I can say is that I am grateful for those who do watch him and show him so much love. I know this was kind of a rambling post but I just had to get my feeling out, I've been thinking about this for so long and just wanted to let everyone know how I felt about it. I so wish I was a stay at home mom and am so jealous of those who are. When I was pregnant everyone kept asking what I was going to do once Reese was here and it broke my heart to tell people that I had to go back to work.

Already 2 Months
I can't believe that it's already been two months since Mr. Reese came into our lives. We just went to his 2 month check up and he sure is growing.
24 Inches Long
11 LBS and 9OZ Heavy
He's a long skinny kid just like his Daddy.
Who apparently likes golf like his dad.
He's been super busy playing with his cousins, but look what happened when his cousin Madie played a little to rough with him.
Big ol scratch on his noggin.
But he's still super cute, we didn't even know that he had been scratched what a tough kid.
I've done some crafting around her.
Look at my hard work.
I made little pumpkins.

I Canned and More!!!!
Just thought I'd give everyone a little update on what has been going on around here.
Yeah I know right, who thought that I could actually do it. On the left you can see peaches, middle peach pit jelly ( I know you are probably wondering what that is, if it is any good I'll post a recipe) and on the right you will see pears. I won't lie pears aren't my favorite but I'm hoping that I'll start to like them and if nothing else it will be good for Reese when he starts eating solids.
I do have more pears, but I have discovered that it takes a lot longer to accomplish things when you have a baby. I'll get more done hopefully tomorrow morning before I head to pick grapes for grape juice.
I'll also tell you about my week last week. Well my office called me in and asked me to work, so I spent some time at work. Can I tell you how much I cried just thinking about leaving my baby. I can't believe that it starts next week. I'm dreading it.
All Mitch and I have been talking about is finding a way for me to stay home. I think within the next year we'll make it happen.
I know in a previous post I wrote about how my office was moving to Texas and how we had decided not to make that move. Well apparently while I've been on maternity leave they decided that my job would not be leaving and that I would be sticking around. That's a good thing for now, we'll see how it goes.
We've also purchased a new table to fit our new space and our larger family.
Thanks to my mom who helped haggle our way down to an acceptable price, we finally have a table where we can have more than two people over for dinner.
This is a poor picture but it's what I've got.
I know it doesn't look to big in this picture but we have another leaf that is hidden in the closet.
So if anyone wants dinner come on over!!!
I'll probably post more after I get all the pears done and the grape juice.

Our New Addition
I said I would post about our new little addition so here it is.
I sure do love this little guy!!!
I wasn't planning on putting much of the birth story on here, I'm not sure how much people really want to know about it so I'll try to be as informative without going to far with it.
So here we go, I tried putting myself into labor for a good week in a half before we actually got to meet Reese, to no avail. Reese did not want to come on his own. From running stairs, stripping my membrane, walking miles and going to the county fair, and after all of the contractions I was having on my own he was not coming out. After waiting 3 days after my original due date the DR. said that's enough we'll induce you.
On Friday morning we arrived at the hospital, got settled in and started in with getting hooked up to all the machines and drugs. I'll just say it took way to long to get to a point where anything exciting was happening. After 10 hours of waiting I was finally at a point were we could start pushing.
2 hours later after pushing we received this cute little boy!!
After about another hour of stitches ( I figure that's enough information on that) I finally got to enjoy the time with Mitch, Reese, My Mom and Mitch's Mom. Reese's other Grandparents and most of his Aunts and Uncle's and Cousins came to see us that night as well.
After a long day with no food I sure was grateful for the burgers, french fries and a cold soda.
We spent the next two nights at the hospital, we had many visitors and felt so loved.

Mitch has been worried about whether he was going to be a good dad or not from the time that we found out we were having a baby, but he was so good and continues to be a good dad. Reese is so lucky to have him as a dad.
We were really lucky to have my Mom (Grandma Jensen) come and stay with us for 2 whole weeks. I'm so glad that she was here to help me figure out how to take care of Reese, especially those sleepless nights right when we brought Reese home and he wanted to be awake in the middle of the night. Or when I took Reese to the DR. to have his circumcision and I cried like a baby.
Now that my mom is gone I've done just fine so I'm told but like most women and new mom's I doubt myself sometimes ( I get in quite a bit of trouble by Mitch). Despite my self doubt, Reese seems to be pretty happy so I guess I can't be doing to bad.
Here are a few pictures of our Little Boy!!!
We've even got one with his Cousin Kruse!!
Kruse had a hard time keeping his hands off Reese but it looks like in this one he succeeded.

People always say that you never loved someone so much until you have a baby of your own, it sure is true. I Love Mitch but the love that I have for Reese is different than the love that I have for Mitch.
Don't know what I would do without him!!!!

New House
Alright, I know it's been altogether to long since I've last posted. I know life changes so much in almost one year. So I'm going to try and catch up real quick. Mitch graduated from college, what a wonderful blessing that has been for him to finally be finished.
Along with Mitch graduating he also accepted an offer at VanOrden, Lund & Cannon (an Accounting Firm Located in Blackfoot). With that we are now both working in Blackfoot. The beginning of the year came around and Mitch worked quite a few hours due to tax season.
With all of that going on we had been looking into buying a house, however we didn't find a house that we liked and for about the same as what we would have spent on a house that someone else built we decided to build our own house. I know how crazy were we. Just wait there is more. So we've built a house, here is a poor picture but it's raining outside so this is the only one I have right now.
Around that same time we announced that we were expecting a baby. Due in August.
Things were really busy for quite some time. We had to wait an extra few weeks than normal to find out what the sex of the baby is due to tax season. But when we were finally able to find out what we were having we were so excited.
Yep, we were having a BOY!!!!
Between all of that not much else was going on. I say that like we weren't crazy busy, but we really did have a full plate. Along with all of this my current employers decided to move the office to Texas. They offered me a position in Texas, we decided to decline for a few reasons. So for now we'll be staying in our new house that we were finally able to move into in July. We are so excited to finally be in our house and to no longer be renters. However, there has been one downfall, it has been the decorating. I had previously had the mindset that I wasn't going to decorate any of our rentals because we weren't going to be staying there long. Now I have a dilemma of not having enough to decorate our home and not knowing how I want to decorate it.
I know this really doesn't do our whole year any justice but I'm hoping with our new little addition that I'll get better at posting and that I'll be more consistent about it.
MORE COMING SOON ON OUR ADDITION!!!!

Weekend!!!
Just in case any of you have been wondering what we've been up to this weekend here's an update.
Friday was date night, I love date night especially when it is just Mitch and I. I got to pick him up from work and we went and got street tacos from Morenitas.
I can't say they were the best I've ever had but they come in a second to the taco wagon in Emmett. Then we went home where Mitch watched a F-Game and I think I read my book. I know you're probably thinking that's not much of a date but with it snowing outside we really didn't want to spend the night out and then have to drive home in the snow.
It snowed I know I just said it up there but it did snow. Not very much I might add, but this meant that I got to spend the day inside doing things that should have been done a long time ago such as fixing the shower door which has had a problem since we moved in. But it finally got done. The other problem we were hoping to fix didn't get fixed because we apparently don't know how to turn off the water to anything. Say what????? Yeah I know how lame. Oh well I guess that is just one more thing the Landlord will have to fix himself.
On Sunday we had the opportunity to attend Stake Conference. It's not often that I really enjoy what the speakers have to say but I really did enjoy it. I think I even payed attention the whole time. We had the opportunity to listen to Elder Baxter(he's from Scotland)
so yeah he had an awesome accent and he spoke about how true the gospel is and how it doesn't really matter what we do in our church and if it is different than other churches. For example just to clear that last statement up he was talking about how some churches have issues with us doing Baptisms for the dead, his comment is that they shouldn't care because if this church isn't true than the baptisms were for nothing and their church doesn't need to worry about it. Along with some other very funny things that were said for instance coming from Sister Baxter. I quote her "Sometimes it's enough to just touch the scriptures, the Lord knows when you don't have the energy to read." Not that that means we shouldn't read the scriptures because we should but how right she is the Lord knows what kind of a day we have had and the struggles we had, and he will accept our efforts no matter what they are. But once again we should read our scriptures.
Something else that I did this weekend was watch Sister Wives.
I got sucked into this show and I know that it's not really appropriate but I wonder what they are thinking living their lives the way they do. How can they use the Book Of Mormon to justify the way they live their lives. I just don't get it but I guess they find something in it to make it ok. They also use the LDS Hymn book, I don't see how they feel good about using the LDS material and doing things that the LDS don't think are right. I guess most religions have some truth in them just not all, but for the father to have been LDS and been through the temple and on a mission how could he have missed some of the very vital principle that we stand for? For him to have taught others the gospel and then come home and say oh wait it's not true. Something had to have happened for that big change in thought. Alright well I'm done with that for the moment.

Apples, Apples and more Apples.
Well I cannot even tell you how many apples we got off our tree. I know how cool is it that we rent and have our own apple tree. Anyway we went ahead and picked all the apples off our tree. Who would have thought that a little apple tree could produce so many apples, it did. I had already been spending my spare time peeling, coring and slicing apples to dehydrate. Now I know why my mom never did this, it is a lot of work for something that gets eaten so fast, not only that but it takes so long. I would have made applesauce or even apple pie filling but someone doesn't like any of those things so dried apples is what we have. Like I said I've been doing this for quite some time( like 2 weeks) then to pick all the apples and find out that I still have 4.5 bags left to do. I was so happy that Grandpa & Grandma Johnson wanted some and that Bryce wanted some as well. I know it takes away from my food storage but I don't know how much more I can take. If anyone in eastern Idaho would like a bag of apples let me know I'm willing to part with one.

Been a long time!
I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I guess I've been a little busy. I'm busy working for my Aunt Sharon, doing some buying and accounting things for her. Since I've been working for her a lot of my other hobbies and projects have been put on hold. But I have done some fun things as well, such as go to Phoenix, AZ with Aunt Sharon. It was a lot of fun but I also did a lot of work. We stayed really busy for those four days, even though we stayed at the Hyatt in Scottsdale we really didn't utilize the resort like we should have. But we did see the pool for a few hours, we watched 2 shows by Spain the Band. They were really good, really enjoyed them. We were also able to get a massage, even though I think I would have been better off not getting one. The therapist that I had did more harm than she did good. I had a hard time sitting and walking for the rest of the trip. Anyway since then I've been doing a lot of work, spending lots of time at the temple. I forgot that Mitch and I went on a camping trip to Salmon. We tried to catch some steel-head (that's a fish) but we didn't catch any. It was a lot of fun to go up there with Mitch's family, could have done without the snoring which came from one of Mitch's grandparents but they were very generous to have let us stay with them. I've also been running erands and finally setting up my house like I should have 1 1/2 months ago. It's taken me so long. But this is better than it was when we lived in Rigby. We had been there for 6 months and didn't have anything on the walls. We're real close to having our pictures on the wall. Maybe I'll even go and have a few of our wedding pictures printed. Been married for 1 1/2 years and the only picture we have from our wedding day was given to us from our photographer(it was even framed). Ha ha how horrible I have so many ideas just not enough enthusiasm. Hopefully I'll get in gear and get it done. Maybe I'll be better for the rest of the month at posting. Sorry Don't have any pics at this time maybe I'll find some and put them up later.

Our Vacation!!!!
Well we went on vacation this past week and it was lots of fun and very busy. I'm so glad we were able to go but I am also very glad that we are now home so that I can get back to looking for a job and enjoying my time before I do start working.
On our 1st day this is what we did.
After spending about 6 hours total on airplanes or in airports we finally arrived in SEATTLE, WA. We spent some time with our friends and then we went here....
This is what we did on day 2.
After we went to Washington Lake we had lunch and then we headed over to see
this who would have thought that going to Washington we would see this lady.
We also went to Pike Place Market where we did this.
Yes we each chewed a piece of gum and stuck it on the wall. Just to warn you it was really smelly down there.
We also went over to the Space Needle, no we didn't go up because we didn't think $25 per person was worth it so but we got to take a pic and go into the gift shop. After we went there we went to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory and that was fun.
On day three we spent the day outside and went on a hike and had a picnic lunch. This was the first place we went for a hike and saw that the trail was closed.
After going there we went over to ...
I'll admit when they were talking about it I was a little skeptical because how could they have a Twin Falls like the one in Idaho. Any way it was such a nice hike and having lunch with this view was so great.
That night there was a party which we attended and then on Saturday I attended a baby shower for my friend and Mitch went bowling. After that we attending another party and it was very fun and enjoyable. We were able to spend our time getting to know our friends families and see where they came from and why they are they way they are.
THANKS NEIL AND EMILY FOR THE INVITE AND TAKING US TO ALL OF THOSE PLACES. WE HAD A GREAT TIME.

Long Day and No Ball Game
So I've worked on my quilt yet again today want to see what it looked like earlier today, well here it is...
It's starting to come together, I'm really excited and looking forward to seeing what the final product will look like. I'm really excited to get done with it and have the finished product. We had been planning on going to the baseball game tonight and it would have been lots of fun. But we didn't get to go because the Man had to drive to Jackson and didn't get home in time to go. So what a bummer, we were going to take my Grandma and she was really excited to but the Man was so tired we just couldn't go.

More Quilting
So I know that I still haven't posted any pics of my car but I just haven't taken any and we'll see when it actually happens. Hopefully this next week my fingers are crossed.Going on, I've still been working on my quilt and this is what it looked like as of last Friday.
This is not what it looks like currently but maybe I'll take a pick when it is laid out tomorrow, it is really coming along if you ask me. I think it is going to look very elegant and classy. Looking forward to also seeing the end and see what it really ends up looking like.
On another note, still don't have a job that I want, still looking though. I'm really looking forward to having a real job not just a job to get me to the next step. This is the next step. Oh on top of that I will be sending out my graduation announcements soon. Don't know how soon, I can never seem to get things out on time hopefully this will be better than the thank you cards that were supposed to be sent out to those who gave us wedding presents.
Oh, so excited that JP won on the Bachelorrette. Don't think that I would have watched another season if he had lost.
Hope your Tuesday will be as good as mine!!!

Graduation It Really Happened!!!
Just so you all know I really Graduated!!! NO JOKE!! Want to see.....
I'm a little sad that I didn't get pictures of the other people that came to support me, Doug and Becky, and Julie too!! I sure am glad I have great in-laws that are so supportive.Just let me tell you this they all sure were proud, lets just admit it I was a little proud too. Now that I'm done I don't really have much to do in terms of work so I've been spending time with my Grandma. This is what I've been doing.
So I've been working on this black, white, and red quilt I've been working pretty hard on it the last 3 days. I am 2 blocks short of having done 44 blocks in total, I'm going to try and keep posting on my progress and all the other things that have been going on.
Oh and maybe I'll take a pic of the car so that you can see what it looks like. Just so you know I was skeptical about the car but pretty sure I'm in love with it now that I've been driving it around.
