Weekend!!!

Just in case any of you have been wondering what we've been up to this weekend here's an update.
Friday was date night, I love date night especially when it is just Mitch and I. I got to pick him up from work and we went and got street tacos from Morenitas.

I can't say they were the best I've ever had but they come in a second to the taco wagon in Emmett. Then we went home where Mitch watched a F-Game and I think I read my book. I know you're probably thinking that's not much of a date but with it snowing outside we really didn't want to spend the night out and then have to drive home in the snow.

It snowed I know I just said it up there but it did snow. Not very much I might add, but this meant that I got to spend the day inside doing things that should have been done a long time ago such as fixing the shower door which has had a problem since we moved in. But it finally got done. The other problem we were hoping to fix didn't get fixed because we apparently don't know how to turn off the water to anything. Say what????? Yeah I know how lame. Oh well I guess that is just one more thing the Landlord will have to fix himself.

On Sunday we had the opportunity to attend Stake Conference. It's not often that I really enjoy what the speakers have to say but I really did enjoy it. I think I even payed attention the whole time. We had the opportunity to listen to Elder Baxter(he's from Scotland)

so yeah he had an awesome accent and he spoke about how true the gospel is and how it doesn't really matter what we do in our church and if it is different than other churches. For example just to clear that last statement up he was talking about how some churches have issues with us doing Baptisms for the dead, his comment is that they shouldn't care because if this church isn't true than the baptisms were for nothing and their church doesn't need to worry about it. Along with some other very funny things that were said for instance coming from Sister Baxter. I quote her "Sometimes it's enough to just touch the scriptures, the Lord knows when you don't have the energy to read." Not that that means we shouldn't read the scriptures because we should but how right she is the Lord knows what kind of a day we have had and the struggles we had, and he will accept our efforts no matter what they are. But once again we should read our scriptures.

Something else that I did this weekend was watch Sister Wives.

I got sucked into this show and I know that it's not really appropriate but I wonder what they are thinking living their lives the way they do. How can they use the Book Of Mormon to justify the way they live their lives. I just don't get it but I guess they find something in it to make it ok. They also use the LDS Hymn book, I don't see how they feel good about using the LDS material and doing things that the LDS don't think are right. I guess most religions have some truth in them just not all, but for the father to have been LDS and been through the temple and on a mission how could he have missed some of the very vital principle that we stand for? For him to have taught others the gospel and then come home and say oh wait it's not true. Something had to have happened for that big change in thought. Alright well I'm done with that for the moment.

Apples, Apples and more Apples.

Well I cannot even tell you how many apples we got off our tree. I know how cool is it that we rent and have our own apple tree. Anyway we went ahead and picked all the apples off our tree. Who would have thought that a little apple tree could produce so many apples, it did. I had already been spending my spare time peeling, coring and slicing apples to dehydrate. Now I know why my mom never did this, it is a lot of work for something that gets eaten so fast, not only that but it takes so long. I would have made applesauce or even apple pie filling but someone doesn't like any of those things so dried apples is what we have. Like I said I've been doing this for quite some time( like 2 weeks) then to pick all the apples and find out that I still have 4.5 bags left to do. I was so happy that Grandpa & Grandma Johnson wanted some and that Bryce wanted some as well. I know it takes away from my food storage but I don't know how much more I can take. If anyone in eastern Idaho would like a bag of apples let me know I'm willing to part with one.

Been a long time!

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I guess I've been a little busy. I'm busy working for my Aunt Sharon, doing some buying and accounting things for her. Since I've been working for her a lot of my other hobbies and projects have been put on hold. But I have done some fun things as well, such as go to Phoenix, AZ with Aunt Sharon. It was a lot of fun but I also did a lot of work. We stayed really busy for those four days, even though we stayed at the Hyatt in Scottsdale we really didn't utilize the resort like we should have. But we did see the pool for a few hours, we watched 2 shows by Spain the Band. They were really good, really enjoyed them. We were also able to get a massage, even though I think I would have been better off not getting one. The therapist that I had did more harm than she did good. I had a hard time sitting and walking for the rest of the trip. Anyway since then I've been doing a lot of work, spending lots of time at the temple. I forgot that Mitch and I went on a camping trip to Salmon. We tried to catch some steel-head (that's a fish) but we didn't catch any. It was a lot of fun to go up there with Mitch's family, could have done without the snoring which came from one of Mitch's grandparents but they were  very generous to have let us stay with them. I've also been running erands and finally setting up my house like I should have 1 1/2 months ago. It's taken me so long. But this is better than it was when we lived in Rigby. We had been there for 6 months and didn't have anything on the walls. We're real close to having our pictures on the wall. Maybe I'll even go and have a few of our wedding pictures printed. Been married for 1 1/2 years and the only picture we have from our wedding day was given to us from our photographer(it was even framed). Ha ha how horrible I have so many ideas just not enough enthusiasm. Hopefully I'll get in gear and get it done. Maybe I'll be better for the rest of the month at posting. Sorry Don't have any pics at this time maybe I'll find some and put them up later.

Our Vacation!!!!

Well we went on vacation this past week and it was lots of fun and very busy. I'm so glad we were able to go but I am also very glad that we are now home so that I can get back to looking for a job and enjoying my time before I do start working.
On our 1st day this is what we did.
Spent 3.5 hours in Reno Airport

After spending about 6 hours total on airplanes or in airports we finally arrived in SEATTLE, WA. We spent some time with our friends and then we went here....

Where I watched my first major league baseball game to bad the Mariners lost.
I know it's a cheesy smile but it's what I was giving at the moment.

This is what we did on day 2.
Washington Lake
After we went to Washington Lake we had lunch and then we headed over to see
this who would have thought that going to Washington we would see this lady.
We also went to Pike Place Market where we did this.
Gum Wall under Pike Place Market
Yes we each chewed a piece of gum and stuck it on the wall. Just to warn you it was really smelly down there.
I hope we all know what this is
We also went over to the Space Needle, no we didn't go up because we didn't think $25 per person was worth it so but we got to take a pic and go into the gift shop. After we went there we went to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory and that was fun.

On day three we spent the day outside and went on a hike and had a picnic lunch. This was the first place we went for a hike and saw that the trail was closed.
Snoqualmi Waterfalls
After going there we went over to ...
Twin Falls, WA
I'll admit when they were talking about it I was a little skeptical because how could they have a Twin Falls like the one in Idaho. Any way it was such a nice hike and having lunch with this view was so great.
So glad we were able to find the waterfall
That night there was a party which we attended and then on Saturday I attended a baby shower for my friend and Mitch went bowling. After that we attending another party and it was very fun and enjoyable. We were able to spend our time getting to know our friends families and see where they came from and why they are they way they are.
THANKS NEIL AND EMILY FOR THE INVITE AND TAKING US TO ALL OF THOSE PLACES. WE HAD A GREAT TIME.

Long Day and No Ball Game

So I've worked on my quilt yet again today want to see what it looked like earlier today, well here it is...
It's starting to come together, I'm really excited and looking forward to seeing what the final product will look like. I'm really excited to get done with it and have the finished product.  We had been planning on going to the baseball game tonight and it would have been lots of fun. But we didn't get to go because the Man had to drive to Jackson and didn't get home in time to go. So what a bummer, we were going to take my Grandma and she was really excited to but the Man was so tired we just couldn't go.

More Quilting

So I know that I still haven't posted any pics of my car but I just haven't taken any and we'll see when it actually happens. Hopefully this next week my fingers are crossed.
Going on, I've still been working on my quilt and this is what it looked like as of last Friday.
This is not what it looks like currently but maybe I'll take a pick when it is laid out tomorrow, it is really coming along if you ask me. I think it is going to look very elegant and classy. Looking forward to also seeing the end and see what it really ends up looking like.
On another note, still don't have a job that I want, still looking though. I'm really looking forward to having a real job not just a job to get me to the next step. This is the next step. Oh on top of that I will be sending out my graduation announcements soon. Don't know how soon, I can never seem to get things out on time hopefully this will be better than the thank you cards that were supposed to be sent out to those who gave us wedding presents.
Oh, so excited that JP won on the Bachelorrette. Don't think that I would have watched another season if he had lost.
Hope your Tuesday will be as good as mine!!!

Graduation It Really Happened!!!

Just so you all know I really Graduated!!! NO JOKE!! Want to see.....

See Look Me and the Man

Once Again

All my siblings came to celebrate!!!! LOVE THEM!!!

Look Mom and Dad and Grandma Too!!!

I'm a little sad that I didn't get pictures of the other people that came to support me, Doug and Becky, and Julie too!! I sure am glad I have great in-laws that are so supportive.
Just let me tell you this they all sure were proud, lets just admit it I was a little proud too. Now that I'm done I don't really have much to do in terms of work so I've been spending time with my Grandma. This is what I've been doing.
Just one of each block that I had finished.
So I've been working on this black, white, and red quilt I've been working pretty hard on it the last 3 days. I am 2 blocks short of having done 44 blocks in total, I'm going to try and keep posting on my progress and all the other things that have been going on.

Oh and maybe I'll take a pic of the car so that you can see what it looks like. Just so you know I was skeptical about the car but pretty sure I'm in love with it now that I've been driving it around.

Signing off...............

Graduation Seriously

Yo Yo Just thought I'd let all you know out there I'm graduating tomorrow. Finally I know it's taken 5 years holy cow. Anyway REALLY excited and looking forward to it. And my Super Cool Husband is pretty much the best, Guess what my Graduation Present was..........A Car! I know right how cool, who would have thought I would have been rewarded with a car. Anyway on to something new, I had to have an exit interview with one of my professors it was really funny. He told me before I left his office that I had a really nice personality and that he liked my disposition in life. Who would have thought that a teacher would have paid that much attention to who I really am, I guess people are really watching what I do ( without me really knowing it). Alright well I have to make dinner now so I'm signing off, but YAY for tomorrow can't wait. Oh except that I have one more test to take..... Boo.

Yum Yumm and Yummy

Now this is the first time I've ever done a food/recipe post but I couldn't help it these little treats are just so tasty I just had to share with everyone else out there.
                                                  Caramel S'more cups
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
24 round chewy caramels in milk chocolate, from 3 (1.91 oz) rolls, unwrapped
72 mini marshmallows (about 3/4 cup)
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1. Heat oven to 350F, Spray 24 mini muffin cups with cooking spray.
2. Make cookie dough as directed on package, using butter and egg. Shape dough into 24 (1 1/2-inch) balls.
place 1 ball into each muffin cup.
3. Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Remove from oven, firmly press 1 candy into center of each cookie until flush with cookie top. Top each with 3 marshmallows. Bake 2 to 4 minutes longer or until marshmallows are puffed. Cool 10 to 15 minutes. Loosen edges of cookie with small metal spatula and remove to cooling racks. Cool completely.
4. Place chocolate chips in small resealable freezer plastic bag. Microwave on High about 1 minute or until softened. Gently squeeze bag until chocolate is smooth; cut off tiny corner of bag. Squeeze bag to drizzle chocolate over marshmallows. Let stand until hardened, about 10 minutes.

New Place

Well it's almost official we have found a new place. YAY!! I'm pretty excited it's super cute, all painted and has cute little touches and lots of storage. We looked at the place on Monday evening and jumped at the thought of living there and here it's only Thursday and it's ours we'll sign our lease this weekend or on Monday not sure what the Man's plans for the weekend are but I'm excited to make it my own and start decorating. I've got some work to do, bought an old dresser that needs some work and needs to be painted and I think that I'm also going to paint our headboard and foot board so that they match the dresser. Still need to figure out how I want to do it and what color (Our bedroom will be sage green, any suggestions).  I think that the other thing that has been going on is that I had to go to the doctor yesterday no fun. Last week I bumped my hand on a door frame and it caused a viscous cyst and to my dislike the Man wouldn't hit the top of my hand with a book. I also asked several of my old coworkers to  do the same and they wouldn't either which is strange since several of them have been to prison for violence. Anyway go to the doctor and find out what's wrong and he says most people just take a hard book and hit their hand with it, I would have just come home and had the Man do it but if he wouldn't do it the first time why would he do it the second time I ask. So instead I just had the doctor take a needle and poke it so that it popped, it looks worse now than it did before and hurts more too. I should have just taken it into my own hands, instead of going to the doctor.
One last thing...... TARA IS HAVING A BABY GIRL, GONNA BE AN AUNT AGAIN.

V-Day I know it's a little late!!

V-day was so great, Mitch sent me flowers and work how great.
I was the only one in the office who got flowers, and that's not because they were all boys because there are only 2 male coworkers compared to the 7 females that work there. But I think I did pretty good with what I arranged for Mitch. Since he got his truck he's been wanting a Taunu cover for his truck and with my connections at my previous employment I was able to get one for him at a fraction of the cost. So yeah I rocked it. And we just had such a relaxing night and didn't have to deal with all the crazy people that were out and about.

Funny Things Kids Say

I'm going to share a story with you about how funny kids are and how they don't understand how things work.
To set the stage Mitch and I were and his moms house for the day on Saturday. When we got there there were a few kids there
1. Conner, our nephew 6
2. Tanisha, someone my mother-in-law takes to church every Sunday 10
3,4 Cole and his twin brother, his name slips my mind, 5
The boys were going crazy and started chasing Mitch around and shooting him with candy, while Tanisha was in the kitchen helping Julie make sugar cookies and frosting the cookies. During the course of conversation with Julie, Mitch's mom, and Tanisha the topic of Tara, Mitch's sister, came up. Tara is pregnant at the moment and is extremely hormonal and moody, who can blame her right. Anyway we got to talking about how her child is going to be just like the boys who are running around and Julie said well yours will be the same way. Tanisha not really knowing what tense Julie was speaking in says, Julie both your kids are having kids. I soon corrected her and we went on with the conversation. A few minutes later Tanisha asked me so why don't you have kids yet, I tried to explain to her that we haven't been married that long and her response was doesn't Mitch want a kid someday. I told her to ask him thinking he would say yes just not yet. His response was NO. She was a little disappointed with that answer, not understanding that he was a little consumed with being chased, having candy launched at him, being beaten with foam swords and didn't think that he just at the moment he didn't want kids. A few hours later, while we were sitting down enjoying a few of those sugar cookies and chatting some more, Tanisha making sure Mitch isn't sitting by me continues to tell me how much she likes me and how fun I was. She looks over at Mitch sitting on the other couch saying you should put a baby in her belly. How funny, like she understands that it just doesn't happen like that. Anyway that was my funny moment of the day on Saturday

ZUMBA ZUMBA ZUMBA

Any of you ever done zumba before? Well I've been going since we moved to Ririe, and let me tell you it's quite the workout especially if you're coordinated enough to get all of the foot movements and the hand motions down. Anyway, I didn't think I really wanted to go it's been a super long day and I kinda just wanted to relax. But instead my friend Kristin called and talked me into going along with Mitch saying your going so that I would get out of his hair, so that he could get some of his homework done. Which makes me wonder if he even did it, he was in the same position as he was when I left. Back to zumba, who came up with it and who thought about choreographing it to hip hop and pop music, I'm pretty sure that I wasn't meant to dance and if I was I should have started long before now. Oh well makes me feel good and get to see some friendly faces. Hope everyone else is having success with their cardio workouts.

Let's start with the Couch and Move to the Break in!

Ok well I took that picture like I told you I would. It's really getting me excited to get me to move back to our own place so that we can use it for real and have it where we want it to be.
Anyway so excited about this couch it looks so much better than our old ones.

Alright on to the next piece of news, we were robbed a few weeks ago, we kept pretty quiet about it at the time so that people wouldn't be to worried and ask to many questions. Now it's out of our system we feel like we can share it without others being worried about it.  Alright here goes, I get a text from Mitch one afternoon, and it reads "we were broken into" I thought he was joking and responded with a very sarcastic "no way" after those initial texts it went further. Yes we were broken into and he'd been trying to get a hold of me for a few hours. Apparently while Mitch was at school and I was at work someone kicked in our door.

Mitch got home from school, walked up the back stairs and noticed that the door isn't closed. He walked in the door and looked around to see if anything big was missing and didn't see anything missing and goes into the bedroom to find that only one thing was missing. It was our plastic coke bottle bank that we had gotten on our honeymoon (of all things to have taken something we got on our honeymoon). He went back outside and called the police, long story shorter we had to get our door replaced along with an added deadbolt, we don't have a piggy bank, and the lights get left on whenever we leave the house.

Hopefully that will never happen again!

Starting Week 2

Well this is the start of week two at my internship. It's been going pretty good, I can't really complain, I'm really getting the hang of things and flying through those tax returns. The days go by really fast, they don't drag, and I learn something just about every day. The only downfall is that I work with a not so pleasant person, I attend school with him and he got caught distributing test bank questions to others in the department and almost got kicked out of school. The only reason he didn't was because he lied to the person who was in charge of the department. How stupid, why would you want to cheat your way through school, you don't learn anything and you wouldn't be able to actually practice because you really don't know what you are doing.

On another note we bought a couch over the weekend! Yay, I can't tell you how exciting it was to get a new couch. Well it's not really a new couch, haha kinda not. We bought it at the youth ranch and get this it had never been owned by anyone before. It had been dropped of by a furniture store that discontinued that model. It had only been there for less than one day. I'd take a pic but Mitch is sitting on it and he's not a fan of me taking pics. I'll post one later.

New Chapter

Just thought I'd update everyone on what's been going on lately. I just started my internship today, it was quite the experience. I've never started a job where I showed up and they handed me a pile of paper work and said get to it, and I'm not just talking about new employee paperwork. I'm talking about here's the information get started, no instructions or new employee orientation or anything just go. It was a little bit daunting but I got through it and did 2 I say two tax returns and worked on another 2. I hope I'm figuring it out. Let's see what else has been going on well about 3 weeks ago someone broke into our house, for anyone who didn't know we are living in Mitch's grandparents house. It was quite the experience to have someone break down your door and go through your things and take what they wanted without anyone being home to stop it. But we made out fine they only took our piggy bank, when they could have taken our tv or wii, no they just wanted money. Oh and one more bit of knowledge to share with you guys, I just got accepted to go to school during the summer so I will be finishing this July. BRING IT ON! And finally Mitch is taking classes right now and is doing good in his classes, he just took a test last Saturday and didn't think he did very good but I checked his score for him and he did better than any of his study group and better than he thought. He's so smart!!!
